Tour of Britain.

En-route from Cockermouth on Tuesday 8 September the riders will pass through Newcastleton, Hawick, Selkirk, Tweedbank, Melrose and St Boswells before reaching Kelso and a final sprint in the grounds of Floors Castle. The following day the race will also pass through Duns and Coldstream as the riders go from Edinburgh to Blyth in Northumberland.

 

Caerketton Downhill at Hillend, Edinburgh – 9th Sept 2015

A race with a difference for young and old, but all slightly mad! This is the 3rd and last of the ‘Get a Grip’ Downhill Race Series (after Bishophill and The Nebit) It is held over a distance of 1.8 km with 300 metres descent (with shorter course for the very young) 1.8 km, 300 metres descent Start is staggered at 15 sec intervals from top of summit cairn Enter (6pm – 6.30pm) on the day at car park at bottom of ski road – (to allow time to get up to the start for 7pm) All descenders must declare themselves insane before being allowed to take part.

The RoadBlock Run – the Friendly, Foamy Fun Run! 7K! Sunday 13th September Holyrood Park, Edinburgh

The RoadBlock Run is a charity fun run with obstacles organised by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland to raise funds for our vital work. So far the RoadBlock Run and it’s predecessor Urbanathlon Scotland have raised over £240,000 for Scotland’s Health Charity.

The emphasis is very much on fun, in the past people have tackled our colourful obstacles dressed as penguins, bears, ninjas and superheroes. We can guarantee the obstacles ensure this is a 7k you won’t forget but they will leave you smiling and laughing too.

You can run as an individual or grab friends, family or colleagues and run as a team. Fancy dress is encouraged – the more colours the better – and prizes will be awarded for the best team fancy dress and best individual fancy dress. On the spot prizes will also be given out on the day.

We ask each participant to register by paying £16 and then raise an additional £40 in sponsorship for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.
